On June 19, 2009, I called this company to inquire about/purchase a part for my refrigerator. I had previously looked the part up online and found it, and found prices +/- $100. When I called in about this part, the employee gave me a price af about $20 so I explained I was looking for the entire ice assembly part. He said it wasn't available as one part, that all the parts were sold separately. I asked again, he insisted I could not purchase it as a whole, so I said, "Oh, ok" and ended the call. I called another company and inquired... and sure enough, the entire assembly was available. I ordered it. I then called APED back to bring the error to their attention as I had to assume they would want to educate the employee to prevent losing more business. I was explaining the situation and that I was told the whole part wasn't available and the employee interrupted and said, "yes, it is available". I said, "I know, that is what I am trying to explain" and when I tried to explain it to the gentleman I talked to previously he insisted I was wrong. As a result, I looked elsewhere and was able to order the part. I said, "I wanted to let you know because I would have purchased it from you guys". As I attempted to finish my sentence the phone went dead. I called back and the employee I had spoken to the first time answered. I said I think I was disconnected and he answered, "Nope, he hung up on you."
I'm left to conclude that customer service is far from their priority. I can only imagine the potential negative business experience that would have ensued had I ended up doing business with this company. I don't have any desire to support a company with employees with such immature and rude business practices. I am now thankful the first employee was incompetent.
